Smart LPG - Introduction

In association with Envy Motors, we can provide LPG conversions for existing Smart car owners as well as selling new and used Smart LPGs. Envy Motors will fill in all the forms to get you Congestion Charge exempt (in London).

Smart Conversions
The Smart LPG conversions are undertaken by LPGA approved Garages in London and - if required - nationwide. The Smart LPG conversion comprises an under body kit, which means that there is no loss of interior space and the boot is not stuffed with an LPG tank. Innovation in the industry has allowed the use of under body space that was previously not possible.

The Conversion Process
As the Smart is different in size to many standard LPG conversions, certain parts of the process are unique to the Smart LPG:
- With the Smart For Two, the process involves removing the existing factory fitted petrol tank, replacing it with a 27litre LPG tank, and a custom built 16 litre petrol tank. There is a standard LPG gauge on the dash.
- With the Smart For Four, The process involves removing the spare wheel and using the space for a special 34 litre donut LPG tank. The factory fitted petrol tank is left alone.
- The LPG tank is able to cope with extreme temperatures and can sustain far greater impact than either a petrol or diesel fuel tank.
- The above process takes just 5 working days

Conversion Compatibility and Cost
The following Smart models can be converted:
- Smart ForTwo: 698cc: 2003-2007 (Pure, Pulse and the Passion)
- Smart ForTwo: 1000cc: 2007 - (Pure Pulse and Passion 71bhp Only)
- Smart ForFour: 1100cc 2003 – 2006 (Any variant of the 1100cc)
Larger engine models like the Brabus and Smart Roadster cannot be converted. The cost of conversions is £2,126 + VAT. LPG warranty extension covering the second year labour £250 + VAT

New and Used Smart LPG’s
New vehicles are supplied through Smart UK and are then converted to run on LPG fuel by LPGA approved conversion specialists. The cars are then collected clean, fuelled and Congestion Charge free.
Used Smart LPG cars always undergo strict inspection and additional servicing to ensure they are in the best possible condition. Most vehicles are sold with existing warranties in place and we also offer the ability to extend the warranty if required.
