Q.
What are the advantages of LPG?
A. Due to it's higher octane content and the fact that it is a gas,
engine combustion is smoother and quieter. Also, because it contain
no additives, unlike petrol or diesel, it burns cleaner, which is
better for the environment and helps prolong engine and component
life. Q.
Why is LPG so cheap?
A. The duty the government charges on LPG is considerably less that
on petrol, in order to encourage it's use.
Q. How
long will it take to pay for the conversion?
A. On average, the cost of conversion should normally be recovered
in the first year through the reduction in fuel costs.
Q. Will
my car loose performance?
A. There is little or no difference in fuel efficiency or performance
on modern cars.
Q. Where
can I get LPG?
A. There are over 1400 LPG refueling stations in the UK, with more
opening all the time, and as most conversions are duel fuel, you
will have the backup of petrol, should you run low.
Q. Where
do you fit the tank?
A. The tank goes normally in the boot or in the spare wheel compartment.
Your vehicle's tyres can be filled with a special compound which
will make them virtually puncture proof, thus eliminating the need
for a spare tyre. Some 4x4 vehicles can have under slung tanks.
